Solution for a slipping Futon Mattress

Are you frusted with your Futon Mattress not staying in place?

When you own a Futon you can relate to any of these situations. Are you tired of setting your mattress straight all the time? Does your mattress have a mind of its own? Your cotton or spring mattress slides forward or your polyurethane mattress jumps and springs out of poisition. Nothing you do helps keep the mattress in place. The cause is lack of friction between the mattress and the Futon.

The Gripper

The newset solution to your problem

A Gripper is an easy inexpensive solution to your problem. The gripper is made of non-slip foam, same kind of material used to keep floor rugs in place. The Gripper will anchor the mattress and keep it in place. This a very important Futon accessory you should own.

To use the Gripper, remove your mattress from the frame and lay down the gripper across the slats of the seating area. You can now cut and size the gripper to the dimensions of the seat of your Futon. The Gripper should not sag down between the slats but just rest flat. If your mattress is very slippery you could even try putting another gripper between the back rest and the mattress. After you are done placing the gripper put your mattress back in position making sure you do not move the Gripper. This will keep your mattress in place for your enjoyment.

Lastly where can you get a Gripper, easiest is to ask your Futon agent. You could also check your local carpet store, they call it the non-slip pad for floor rug. To be sure get the thin mesh non-slip mad not the thick pad. You will need to cut the non-slip pad or Gripper to sit your Futon.

With Gripper not only will your Futon Mattress be happy to be in place but so will you with less aggravation of trying to keep it in place.

That's certainly a better fix that sticking velcro strips to the furniture and the mattress! Thanks for sharing!

The 'gripper' is probably one of the best futon inventions ever. Sliding mattresses are enough to drive a person crazy!

I love this idea! But I still have one problem. My cat, in her efforts to see out the window, constantly causes the top part to fold down, does anyone have any tips for this?
